Brilliant Bookshops: The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop, Nailsworth

Nailsworth is a town in Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds, offering many independent shops- and free parking! It is also home to The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop. This lovely bookshop is named after a book called ‘The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop’ by an American author called Lewis Buzbee which is a history of bookshops, and why they are socially, culturally and economically important. There are two bookshops of this name, one in Tetbury opened in 2008 and this one in Nailsworth which opened a couple of years later.

The shop is a lovely space. Everything is well laid out, making it easy to browse and locate books of interest. In addition to books, they offer a wonderful range of cards. The children’s section is towards the back of the shop and offers a wide range of titles for all ages.

The lady in the shop was very friendly and welcoming, and keen to help locate the books I asked about. Regular customers came in whilst I was there and were all warmly greeted as they came to collect books and browse. Well worth a visit!
