Brilliant Bookshops: The Ivybridge Bookshop

Ivybridge is a lovely little town in South Devon. The original bridge, a medieval packhorse one painted by a number of important artists including J M W Turner, still stands and the town is known as ‘Gateway to the Moor’, being the start/finish point of the long distance walking path, The Two Moors Way. It’s a lovely place to explore whether you are a walker or not and has a Brilliant Bookshop- The Ivybridge Bookshop on Fore Street.

Bright and welcoming, ‘The Ivybridge Bookshop’ is a lovely space, bursting with a carefully curated selection of books. The layout allows plenty of room for manoeuvring push chairs or wheel chairs around, making it accessible and inviting, whilst the service offered was excellent- so friendly and helpful. The gentleman behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the stock on offer, quickly locating things we were looking for and making suggestions for others!

The children’s section offers a wonderful range, temptingly presented to make browsing easier for smaller customers! There is a pleasing range of poetry and non-fiction as well as fiction for all ages, including a wonderful array of picture books. Plenty of temptation for all!

Ivybridge is very lucky to have such a lovely bookshop which we will be visiting again!
